Dr Indu Ratti, Associate Professor, Department of Mathematics, was appointed Officiating Principal of the college by the Sikh Educational Society, the institution’s Managing Committee. During her coronation, S. Gurdev Singh Brar (IAS Retd.) greeted her and wished her success as the head of the institution. The previous Principals of the college Dr. Jaspal Singh Randhawa and Dr. Tarsem Singh were also present to grace the occasion. Members of SES and LMC, senior staff members were also present.
Dr. Tarsem Singh, after a span of five glorious years of laudable services, retired as Principal of Sikh National College, Banga. The event was marked by the gracious presence of SES President S. Gurdev Singh Brar (IAS Retd.). Among other noted personalities were Advocate Karandeep Singh Cheema, Joint Secy, SES, Principal Dr. Jaspal Singh Randhawa, the Executive Member of SES, S. Jarnail Singh Palli Jhikki, Secy. LMC, S. Gurbir Singh Brar, Executive, Sikh Human Development Foundation, Principal Dr. Gurdev Singh Randhawa, Dr. Amandeep Singh, GNDU, Jagwant Singh, PCCTU. The academic, cultural and infrastructural growth of the institution during his tenure was commemorated and appreciated. The staff of the college bid adieu to the great Principal with arousing emotions.
The Zonal Youth Festival at Sikh National College, Banga, opened with great enthusiasm and cultural spirit.
Dignitaries including hon’ble Dr. Karamjeet Singh,VC, GNDU, and Principal Dr. Tarsem Singh inaugurated the event, celebrating youth talent and creativity.
SNC Mega Fiesta-2024 held on February 28, 2024, in the college precincts was characterized by a spirit of revelry, fun and frolic, being relished by the students and the staff to the core. During the inaugural ceremony, S. Daljit Singh Khakh, DSP, Banga, was the Chief Guest. The other distinguished guests present on the occasion included – Surinder Singh Kandola, Gurjeet Singh Kandola, Harminder Singh Atwal, Parminder Singh, Gurinderjit Singh, Dr. Sohan Singh, Prof. Pargan Singh and S. Jarnail Singh, Secretary LMC. Whereas renowned Lyricist Shamsher Sandhu alongwith diasporic writer S. Ashok Bhaura and Jasvir Gunachauria, graced the closing ceremony.
Principal Dr. Tarsem Singh and the staff felicitated guests. The event was marked by variety of fun games, music, dance and lucky draw. Numerous stalls were put up by the students of different departments and the fest concluded with bestowment of prizes on the winners of the lucky draw
On September 27, 2023, Convocation 2023 is solemnized in the campus. Sh Manish Tewari, MP, Sri Anandpur Sahib, Col(Retd.) JS Bala, Secretary SES, S Jaspal Singh Randhawa, member, EC and Principal Dr. Tarsem Singh conferred 430 graduates with degrees.
Prof. Darshan Singh, who served the Department of Physics in the college for a long time, donated Rs one lakh for the cause of needy students. Principal Dr. Tarsem Singh and S Jarnail Singh, Joint Secretary LMC, acknowledged the selfless contribution of Prof. Darshan Singh, and felicitated him along with his better half Prof. Jaswant Kaur.
Dr. Ikbal Kaur, the reputed international athelete, who graced as Chief Guest the celebrations of Punjabi week in the college, donated Rs ten lakh to the institute and also announced annual scholarship for two lakh to the poor and needy students. Principal Dr. Tarsem Singh felicitated Dr. Kaur and S Jasmeen Singh Garewal, first Commandant, Merchant Navy, on the occasion.
Students of B.sc semester 6 Ankita,Priyanshu,savleen and B.sc semester 4 student Kajal bagged merit positions in University.
Under the aegis of Dr. Jaspal Singh Sandhu, Vice Chancellor, GNDU, Amritsar, Dr. Tarsem Singh Bhinder, Principal, Sikh National College, has been elected as President of the University’s Sports Committee(Men). It’s a proud moment for the college which has a legacy in sports.
Dr. Tersem Singh joins as Principal, Sikh National College, Banga, today(April 23, 2021). He has been serving in the Department of Physical Education, Lylpur Khalsa College, Jalandhar.
